When Pet Shop Boys released Did you see me coming? video, there was a sense of bitter at how crummy and rushed the video looked.
It was basically Minimal Part Duex. Neil in a nice sharp suit, miming his way through the song, doing his wonderful hand gestures to help illustrate the lyrics while Chris is standing gorm-less in the background, Vintage Pet Shop Boys. Don’t get me wrong, I love that image, pure class. However, it helps if something is happening around them. ‘Minimal’ even had those dancers. ‘Did you see me coming?’ only has a black and white screen in the background changing to different shapes/symbols.
The thing that struck me most, was the fact there was no colour in the video (only black, white and an orange light that focuses on Neil’s face) ‘Did you see me coming?’, to me, feels, sounds and should indeed have a colourful video.
A YouTuber created this Alternative Version of the ‘Did you see me coming?’ video, dubbing it ‘Did you see me coming? v1.2′.
